Product Description

Sodium Ferrocyanide CAS 14434-22-1 13601-19-9, is the sodium salt of the coordination compound of formula [Fe(CN)6]4−. It is a yellow crystalline solid that is soluble in water and insoluble in alcohol. The ferrocyanides are less toxic than many salts of cyanide, because they tend not to release free cyanide. In its hydrous form, Na4Fe(CN)6·10H2O (sodium ferrocyanide decahydrate),  it is sometimes known as yellow prussiate of soda. The yellow color is the color of ferrocyanide anion. No fixed melting point, heating to 50ºC to dehydration, 81.5ºC as anhydride, decomposition of 435ºC.

Application

1) Pigment industry: used for production of Prussian blue and potassium ferricyanide raw materials;

2) Dyeing and printing industry: used for production of blue printing paper;

3) Pharmaceutical industry: used for the pharmaceutical production in the process of removing iron;

4) Iron and steel industry: used for carburizing steel, leather tanning, metal surface corrosion treatment;

5) Food industry: used as a food additive -- table salt anti-caking agent.

6) Other: used for the winter de-icing salt, inorganic chemical additive for preventing agglomeration; and used as a photographic materials;

Storage

No specific storage is required. Use shelves or cabinets sturdy enough to bear the weight of the chemicals.
